The Poetree: Children's Books

I love writing and designing children's books. Most of them never get published however! They're too quirky, costly or even poetic. (Once, a book got cancelled because the new publisher didn't like poetry - it's true and I cried! I used the words instead as lyrics to a love song called Jazz. Here's one of the lines -
"I'd gather up the stars for you like silver coins to spend on dreams.")

My first ever book to hit the shelves was the Unbelievable Fishing Book in which you could catch fish in the pages with a tiny fishing rod - it was unbelievable because I did the illustrations and I'd never drawn anything in my life. Shows you that anything can happen. From then on I went to design all sort of weird and wonderful books. My latest design isn't really a book - it's a tin. "Poems in a Tin" and "Tales in a Tin" will feature in the Word M'art installation. (You can find out more on the Word M'art page)

I'm also working with Dave Browning, designer of the famous Buggy Buddies (over a million copies sold!) to create Kazoo Books where we encourage each other to think of even more poetic, costly, quirky, and mad ideas. Watch this space!

Trying to write a book for young children at the moment called Otis the Singing Lift but the lift's stuck at the moment.
